Luis and Natalie of Crime Scene Kitchen: Now What?

July 6, 2026

Spoiler note: this post confirms the winners of Crime Scene Kitchen season one.

The first champions of Crime Scene Kitchen were Luis Flores and Natalie Collins-Fish, friends and bakers from Las Vegas who outlasted eleven other duos across the nine-episode debut season and took the $100,000 prize when the finale aired on July 21, 2021. As the founding names on the show's champions list, they set the pattern every winning team since has followed: a pair of friends who communicated better than anyone else in the room.

The win

Season one asked something no other baking show did: identify a mystery dessert from crumbs and clues before you can even start baking it. Flores and Collins-Fish beat three other duos in the finale, and in post-win interviews they credited exactly the skill the format rewards, a shared system for reading the crime scene kitchen and dividing the deduction work. Judges Curtis Stone and Yolanda Gampp scored on accuracy first, and this team simply guessed right more often than the field.

The bakery dream

Immediately after the win, the pair were clear about the plan: use the $100,000 to open a bakery together in Las Vegas. Flores told interviewers they intended to take their time and get the details right, estimating roughly a year and a half to opening. It was the most classic possible use of a baking-show windfall, and their hometown coverage embraced them as local stars.

Where things stand

Here is the honest part: the public trail on that bakery is thin. Collins-Fish has continued her custom cake work under her business name, Cake Lyfe by Nattie J, which remains the most visible thread of the duo's post-show baking. But a jointly owned Flores and Collins-Fish bakery has not been widely documented in press coverage since those 2021 interviews, and we will not claim an opening that we cannot verify. Whether the plan evolved, stalled, or simply happened quietly without media attention is not part of the public record we can find.

That is a common shape for season-one reality champions: a burst of finale-week interviews, then private life resumes. What is certain is the milestone itself. Every team that has since decoded a dessert on that soundstage is chasing a title Flores and Collins-Fish held first.

The bigger picture

The show has now crowned three champion duos, and the later pairs' post-show stories are better documented; you can compare all three in our full winners list. If Luis and Natalie's bakery ever opens its doors with a ribbon and a press release, this page will be updated the same week.
