About Is It Cake?
Netflix's shareable hit turns hyper-realistic cake artistry into a guessing game: skilled cake artists build desserts that perfectly mimic everyday objects, then dare a panel to spot the fake. You need zero baking knowledge to play along from the couch, which is exactly why it exploded. Mikey Day's deadpan disbelief is the perfect register for a show whose twist is baked into the premise.
The format
Three cake artists get eight hours to replicate a chosen object in cake, then celebrity judges must pick the cake out of a lineup of five identical-looking objects. Fooling the judges wins the round and $5,000, and the strongest episode winners return for a $50,000 finale.
