About Zumbo's Just Desserts
Australia's most inventive pastry chef built a competition around his own impossible standards: contestants are not just judged by a chef, they are judged by the specific chef whose desserts set the bar for what difficult means. The notorious Zumbo Test is designed to expose gaps in fundamentals, and Rachel Khoo's warmer presence keeps the show from tipping into pure ordeal. It is the technical deep end of the streaming baking pool.
The format
Each episode runs a themed Sweet Sensations challenge scored by Zumbo and Khoo, with the weakest bakers sent to the punishing Zumbo Test technical, where eliminations happen. The last baker standing wins a $100,000 grand prize.
